Gourmet Break at Hôtel de Commune

In this charming, character-filled house, Chef Burri serves seasonal cuisine inspired by his childhood memories and the traditional know-how passed down from his grandmother.

In autumn, the menu takes on the rich flavors of the hunting season: venison stew, saddle of roe deer, or wild boar cheek. Sometimes from local game, sometimes from nearby farms, depending on availability. The side dishes (red cabbage, chestnuts, spätzli, pears, and lingonberries) are served family-style to share, a nod to the conviviality of a family meal.
The chef likes to remind guests that a meal is, above all, a moment of togetherness: a chance to connect, talk, and simply enjoy time spent with others.
This spirit of sharing can be felt both in the dishes and in the warm atmosphere of the restaurant : wood, soft lighting, and the hum of laughter filling the room. For those who prefer something other than game, the menu also includes timeless regional classics, all prepared with fresh, seasonal ingredients.

This one-day outing brings together the essentials of a perfect autumn experience in the Vaud Alps: an easy hike, colorful changing landscapes, and a delicious culinary stop that highlights local craftsmanship.
